The Boston Globe on US Chess League

The US Chess League now going on involves play by computer, but the unusual situation requires separate playing rules from the board play. In effect the league establishes a separate and a new sports culture.

We watched as the New England Nor’easters played (and won) through the Internet against the Philadelphia Inventors at the Boylston Chess Club, and were struck by the unusual conditions.
