2011 Year of Mikhail Botvinnik

FIDE has decided to commemorate 2011 as the year of Mikhail Botvinnik.

This year is 100 years since his birth in August 1911.

Mikhail Botvinnik was World Champion from 1948-1957, 1958-1960 and 1961-1963.
