The Last Amber Tournament

The 20th Amber Blindfold and Rapid Chess Tournament takes place from March 12th to 24th at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, in Monaco. The tournament is organized by the Association Max Euwe in Monaco and the total prize-fund is € 227,000. This is the 20th and last edition of this event.

Viswanathan Anand (India), Levon Aronian (Armenia), Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Vugar Gashimov (Azerbaijan), Boris Gelfand (Israel), Anish Giri (The Netherlands), Alexander Grischuk (Russia), Vasily Ivanchuk (Ukraine), Sergey Karjakin (Russia), Vladimir Kramnik (Russia), Hikaru Nakamura (United States) and Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria).

The rate of play is 25 minutes per game per player. With every move made in the blindfold games 20 seconds is added to the clock, with every move made in the rapid games 10 seconds is added.
