The International Chess Festival Nakhchivan Open 2013, dedicated to the memory of Heydar Aliyev, is scheduled to take place from 21st April to 1st May at the Nakhchivan Chess Center in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan.
The players will be seeded in Tournament A if rated above 2250 FIDE (For Women above 2100 FIDE), while the lower rated players will compete in Tournament B. Both groups will be played over nine rounds of Swiss system.
There will also be Tournament C for U12 juniors.
The total prize fund is increased to 60,000 USD.
Top rated players are former European champion Potkin Vladimir 2665, Mamedov Rauf AZE 2662, Zhigalko Sergei 2656, Tiviakov Sergei 2650, Kurnosov Igor 2649, Safarli Eltaj 2643 and Landa Konstantin 2642.
