An interesting banter

GM Victor Mikhalevski is excellent tactician and one of the leading experts in "Catalan" systems.
GM Boris Gulko is the only player to have positive score against Garry Kasparov. Former USSR champion and several times US champion.

1.d4 e6 2.c4 Bb4 3.Bd2 a5 4.g3 d6 5.Nc3 f5 6.Bg2 Nf6 7.Nf3 0-0 8.0-0 Nc6
Different move order brought us finally into Dutch defence. Black`s idea is to prepare e5. Maybe best continuation for White was 9.a3 Bc3 10.Bc3 Ne4 11.Be1, but he goes for unclear d5.

9.d5 Ne5 10.Ne5 de5 11.e4
Interesting was 10.Nd4 Nc4 11.de6. Instead of 11.e4 it was still better 11.a3

11...ed5 12.ed5 Bd7 13.Qc2 Qe8
With idea 14.Re1 Qh5 15.Re5 Ng4. Black has good chances for attack on the kingside so Victor prepares Q`s trade.

14.Rae1 Qh5 15.Qd1
Now Q`s exchange gives pleasent endgame for Black, but since this is banter match (where players are "whispering" thier comments and ideas to the audience) and audience wants to see some blood, Boris goes sharp...

15...Ng4 16.h3 f4
In regular tournament game this kind of adventure would be punished, but since this is rapid TC where players have additional obligation to commentate the game to the audience, it`s not easy to find refutation.

17.Ne4
Right away 17.hg4 is very dangerous because Black has time for Rf8-f6-h6. White plays first Ne4 to prevent from that manoeuvre, it was also possible 17.Qf3 (although the Queen is worst possible blocker) with idea 17...fg3 18.Qg3 Nh6 18.Re5.

17...f3 18.hg4 Bg4 19.Bh1 Rf5
Preparing Qh3-Rh5, but it appears to be too slow as White is making breach in the center. On 19...Bd2 20.Qd2 Ra6 21.d6!. Should have tried with Ra6-h6 at once.

20.Lb4 ab4 21.d6 c6
No time for 21...Qh3 because of 22.dc7 Rh5 23.Qd8. It`s obvious that Black`s attack failed.

22.d7 Rd8 23.Qd6 Qf7
On 23...Qh3 works 24.Qe7

24.Nc5 b6 25.Nd3
With next Re5. White finally clinched the game.

25...Rf6 26.Qc7 Qd7 27.Qd7 Bd7 28.Ne5 Bh3 29.Rd1 Ra8 30.Rfe1 Ra2 31.Bf3 Rb2 32.Bc6 h5 33.Rd8 Kh7 34.Be4 Bf5 35.Nd7 Rf7 36.Nf8 Kh6 37.Rd6 Kg5 38.Bf5 Kf5 39.Rd5 Kg4 40.Re4 Kf3 41.Re3 Kg4 42.Re4 Kf3 43.Re3 Kg4 44.Ne6 Rff2 45.Rg5 Kh3 46.Rh5 Kg4 47.Rg5 Kh3 48.Nf4 1-0
