The press — conference dedicated to the up coming Topalov — Kramnik Match in Elista (Kalmykia) took place in Moscow in the international news agency Interfax. FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and World Champion Veselin Topalov were present, and Vladimir Kramnik (still having a rest in a French resort) joined them over the phone.
The Match will take place September 21 — October 12, 2006 in the Assembly Hall of the Government House of Kalmykia. The Match will consist of 12 games and have a prize fund of $1 million. Both participants will have equal conditions: private houses, two cars each, a personal cook, securities, police escort, and an opportunity to spend time in the sea coast (a helicopter and a yacht will be provided for such occasion). Each participant can take up to four team-members with him at the organizers’ expense.
