Both Canadian Open 2006 and Canadian Youth Chess Championship 2006 will be part of the Kitchener Chess Festival which will take place on July 10th-23rd.
List of players registered so far includes GM Evgeny Bareev (RUS 2701), GM Mark Paragua (PHI 2617), GM Alex Huzman (ISR 2593), GM Mark Bluvshtein (CAN 2538), GM Walter Arencibia (CUB 2526) and GM Hans Joachim Hecht (GER 2398).
