The 27th International Winter Chess Open took place from 25th February to 3rd March at the playing venue Lerins, in Cannes, France.
Indian IM Kore Akshayraj, who recently rounded the necessary GM-norms, confirmed the excellent shape and took a clear first place ahead of a host of strong Grandmasters.
Akshayraj finished with 7,5/9 points in the Main Open with 62 participants. Grandmasters Ruben Felgaer and Eltaj Safarli shared the second place with 7 points each.
