The Midnight Sun Chess Challenge will be held on June 24th-July 2nd in Tromso, Norway. Tromso is the northeast settlement in Norway. Their football team beat my Red Star Belgrade last year 3-1 after being 0-1 down.
Although listed with preregistered participants, GM Mark Paragua is not playing. There are 7 GMs among 62 participants, GM Michal Krasenkov (2650) and GM Magnus Carlsen (2646) are highest rated.
In the 1st round Magnus Carlsen sold an old trick to his inexperienced opponents in Rubinstein French.
