National Open 2012 in Las Vegas

The National Open is one of America's longest running, premier Open tournaments. First established by Ed Edmondson in the 1965, Fred Gruenberg and Alan Losoff have organized the National Open for over 25 years, and have built its well-deserved reputation as The Chess Vacation of the Year.

In recent years, we have added additional championships, and the National Open has grown to become the centerpiece of the Las Vegas International Chess Festival.

The $80,000 Prize Fund is absolutely guaranteed.

The National Open is a 6 round Swiss System tournament, and you can choose between the standard 3-day or alternate 2-day playing schedules (June 15-17 or June 16-17, 2012).

Half-point byes are available for all rounds, with proper notice to the Tournament Directors or with your advance entry.

As always, there are plenty of fun extras, the Riviera's great hotel rates (reserve before May 28th!), and numerous companion events in this year's Las Vegas International Chess Festival.

The Championship and Under 2200 Sections will be FIDE rated.

Chess sets and boards are provided for tournament play only, not for skittles. Please bring chess clocks!
