Results of the 2nd Bone Tournament

The 2nd Bone blitz tournament was held on Sunday 17th December in hotel "Ravno", Cuprija. Not all of the announced masters showed up, but in overall, it was wonderful tournament. I was particularly happy to see our guests having fun at the first place, without being worried about prizes.

Miroslav Milenkovic Bone was deeply touched with the attention of his chess colleagues. You should have seen IM Mihajlo Stojanovic's stunned face when I introduced him to Bone. He thought we were making memorial tournament. An error by newspaper editor also caused a bunch of humorous moments.

A glitch in Swiss Manager program caused a shorter tournament. We have played 19 rounds out of planned 20. There were 42 participants.

Final standings:
1. IM Zoran Novoselski (2351) with 16.5 points
2. FM Boroljub Zlatanovic (2331) 16.0
3. IM Mihajlo Stojanovic (2556) 15.5
4. GM Vladimir Raicevic (2446) 14.0
5. FM Dragan Kojovic (2367) 13.5
6-8. FM Mladen Milenkovic (2349), GM Milko Popcev (BUL 2413) and FM Dejan Brankovic (2394) 11.5 etc

After the tournament I had a training session with IM Mihajlo Stojanovic. It was really insightful to hear how titled player evaluates positions and learn about thinking process while finding the best plan. I hope to schedule another session after Mihajlo returns from his tour in Italy.
